IC:Innovative Craft is developing a Board of Advisors to help us achieve our aims (advisors are listed in alphabetical order):

JennyJenny Carter: Communications Consultant

A journalist, editor and author of nine books, Jenny edited Craftwork magazine for the Scottish Development Agency between 1983-88. In 1986 she founded Carter Rae Communications, one of Scotland’s leading communications consultancies, and ran the business for 21 years, building it into one of Scotland’s pre-eminent businesses in the field. She was instrumental in producing more than 65 award-winning publications during that period, and built up special expertise in communication and change management.

Jenny is a Fellow of the RSA and a Fellow of the British Association of Communicators in Business. In February 2008 she was given the Award for Outstanding Contribution to Communication by Communicators in Business Scotland.

Professor DorothyProfessor Dorothy Hogg MBE: Education Consultant

A highly acclaimed jeweller and teacher, Dorothy was Head of the Jewellery and Silversmithing Department at Edinburgh College of Art from 1985 to 2007. In 2004 she was awarded a Personal Chair, Professor of Edinburgh College of Art. Her contribution to jewellery and silversmithing were recognised in 2001 when she was awarded an MBE. She is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal College of Art and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

Dorothy has work in many public and private collections. She has recently completed a six-month residency as the first Jeweller in Residence at the V&A. This was supported by the Crafts Council and the Scottish Arts Council.

JulianJulian Leiper: Business Consultant

Julian Leiper is a Chartered Accountant and businessman. He has held senior positions in HSBC and The Royal Bank of Scotland, and was Chairman and Managing Director of Computershare, the leading share registration company. Non executive directorships have included Crestco, the settlement company for the UK and Irish Stock exchanges. Current directorships include Radge Media and Slightly Foxed. Long based in Edinburgh, but working largely outside Scotland, Julian gave up business travel several years ago and now provides strategic consulting to small businesses close to home. 

HannahHannah Rudman: Digital Content Consultant

Hannah Rudman is a digital content, IT and environmental change consultant. Hannah helps organisations change their hardwiring on getting digital and being greener. Her background is the arts, and new media start-ups – some of which still exist! Hannah works all over the UK with cultural organisations and writes for Arts Professional. She lives in Edinburgh, is a board member of New Media Scotland and Milk With Two Sugars and is specialist advisor to the Scottish Arts Council, Mission Models Money and Innovative Craft.
