About IC:Innovative Craft

Artist, jeweller, metal designer - Wendy Ramshaw will be exhibiting in IC:Innovative Craft's Weaving Influences exhibition in August 2008.

IC:Innovative Craft was established in 2005 to explore different ways of celebrating excellence and imagination in craft, in Scotland and internationally.

The founding directors (Roanne Dods, Director, Jerwood Charitable Foundation; Amanda Game, Former Director, Crafts The Scottish Gallery; Elizabeth Goring, former Curator, National Museum of Scotland) are using their considerable collective experience to cast new critical light on the vital role of the maker in the 21st century.

We are working to make connections between all those individuals and organisations already active in innovative ways in the field. Making creative use of these connections will allow us to reach out to new audiences through world-class exhibitions and events, building bridges between craft and wider culture.

IC:Innovative Craft has received core funding from the Scottish Arts Council and project funding from the Jerwood Charitable Trust to pursue our aims.

'In an increasingly overloaded material world, the independent imagination of the artist/maker offers an important space for contemplation, enjoyment and serious thought.'
Amanda Game, lead director, IC:Innovative Craft
